Where will this course lead?
This course is ideal for somebody who would like an introduction to Beauty Therapy and who would like to progress to Level 2 Beauty Therapy when they finish school.
After completing Level 2 Beauty Therapy learners could progress to a Level 3 course in Beauty or Sports Therapy.
What will I study?
Health and safety in the salon environment
Contributing to the development of effective working relationships
Preparing and maintaining the salon treatment area
Assisting with beauty treatments such as facials, manicures and make-up.
Nail art techniques
Maths, English and IT will be an important part of your course. You will continue to develop these skills throughout the course.
How will this course be delivered?
The practical elements of this course will be delivered in the college commercial salons and the other half of the programme involves assignments, external tests
What qualifications will I get?
NVQ Certificate in Beauty Therapy (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by practical observations, course work, assignments and external tests
How do I get a place on the course?

What are the entry requirements?
Completion of 14-16 Level 1 hairdressing qualification

You will need to purchase a portfolio folder and a beauty therapy tunic top

What can I do after this course?
If you are successful on this course, you will be able to progress to NVQ2 Beauty Therapy Diploma

You will need to come equipped with a pen and paper and purchase a portfolio folder at an approximate cost of £5.00
