The College welcomes applications from those with additional needs and our support team are fully trained to give you all the encouragement that you need to get the most out of your learning experience. If you are disabled or have any special needs, then our team of support staff are here to help you. When you have accepted your offer from us we will invite you to attend a transition planning meeting and will ensure that you are familiar with the college before you begin your course.

The Enrichment Team are here to make your time outside of lessons, fun, exciting, interesting and informative. All throughout the year, our student liaison officers organise trips, excursions, events, volunteering, themed events and a varied, engaging range of great activities, ensuring your time with us isn’t all work and no play.
We support Learner Voice which gives you, the student, the opportunity to tell us how your time at college is going, what we are doing well and what you would like to see improved. We also hold elections for School Representatives and Governors, giving our students a say in matters regarding school funding and quality of education.

Help with future job planning is available for all of our students. To ensure you choose the career that’s right for you, our Careers Team are on hand to provide invaluable advice on job hunting, local employers, Higher Education, local training schemes and job vacancies. They can also help you to prepare your CV and find you suitable work experience.

Counselling is a confidential service where you will be listened to with genuine, non-judgemental warmth. The team are on site daily to give you a chance to talk through things which are concerning you. It may be something that has been nagging at you for some time or may have arisen recently. Either way you can explore them, and your feelings around them, in order to help you find the resources in yourself to manage them. Your counsellor will support you to work at your own pace, and to discuss the things which are important to you.

This is a time of major change where you are faced with freedom, choices and decisions. There may be issues around your personal circumstances, accommodation, friends and relationships, family relations, caring responsibilities, physical, emotional and mental health, benefits and finances.

The Welfare Service can provide information on a variety of topics with the aim of offering intensive and practical support. This early intervention approach can help offer you an active solution to enable you to remain on course and achieve.

As soon as you arrive here on your very first day at college you will be assigned a Personal Tutor. Your Personal Tutor will be there to provide support, advice, guidance and information throughout your time here. You will meet regularly with your tutor for individual tutorials to discuss your learning and ensure you are on track with work and getting the most out of your experience with the college. You will also have group tutorials with your friends.
The College employs a dedicated qualified nurse who is available if you are unwell, for advice on health issues and first aid.
