Where will this course lead?
This course is ideal for you if you have recently left school and want take the first steps towards a career in the sport and leisure industry. You will develop the knowledge and skills for jobs such a Leisure Assistant or an Assistant Gym Instructor and the knowledge and skills to move onto a level 3 sport course.
What will I study?
Subjects such as
Anatomy and Physiology
The Effects of Exercise on the Body
Developing Personal Fitness
Instructing Exercise and Fitness
Sports Leadership
Maths, English and IT will be an important part of your course. You will continue to develop these skills and may work towards a qualification at an appropriate level.
How will this course be delivered?
Most of the course will take place in the classroom where learners will gain a good theoretical understanding of sport related subjects. Other parts of the course will take place in the sports hall or the well equipped college gym.

Successful applicants will need to purchase college logo kit to be worn during practical lessons. Further payment will also be required to pay for any intended trips and visits.
Solihull College offers full time and part time courses for businesses and residents in Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Coventry Warwickshire and the whole of the West Midlands.
