Where will this course lead?

The course is ideal for anyone working within the retail sector, in a supervisory role upwards. The Level 3 Apprentice has three pathways that learners can work towards depending on their job role and will help/ support them to have a better understanding of the retail sector at this level.

What will I study?

A range of subject areas including:

- Customer service
- Selling Process
- Personal and team effectiveness
- Store operations
- Recruitment
- Visual Merchandising
- Management of Risks to Health & Safety
- Security and loss prevention
- Managing stock control

How will this course be delivered?

You will be visited by an Assessor/tutor in the workplace

What qualifications will I get?

Generic code to identify ILR programme aims

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is by practical observations, course work, assignments and external tests

How do I get a place on the course?

Places are offered through an informal interview.

What are the entry requirements?

- Employed within the industry
- Reference from current employer
- Assessment of Maths and English

What else do I need to know?

The Level 3 Apprentice is a rolling programme this means that you can join us at any time of the year.

Solihull College is part of the National skills academy for retail.

Good levels of English and Maths are important for your success in your course, your chosen vocation and life. Throughout your course you will continue to develop your English and Maths skills in your vocational classes.

If you haven't achieved an A*/1 - C/4 grade in English or Maths at GCSE, or a Level 2 Functional Skill, you will also be working towards a qualification in English or Maths at a level that will enable you to progress towards these grades.

If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview. If you need help completing your application we can help with this too.

What can I do after this course?

On completion of the course learners will be qualified to work within the retail industry at supervisory level and above and will help as part of the career progression route within the sector.
