Where will this course lead?
The Business and Administration (BAA) Frameworks provide apprentices and employers with an excellent foundation for the training of future staff in Business & Administration. Administrators need a broad range of skills to work efficiently and to help increase business productivity.
What will I study?
The specific units studied will depend on your chosen career path and duties undertaken in your workplace. Typically topics include office and administration skills, customer-handling skills, technical and practical skills, communication skills, numeracy skills and IT skills.
How will this course be delivered?
The Business & Administration Apprenticeship will be delivered in your workplace. You will also have assignments and workbooks to complete during your programme.
What qualifications will I get?
NVQ Diploma in Business and Administration (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
There will be workplace assessment including observation, oral questioning, written questioning, discussion and inspection of work products. You will also complete assignments, workbooks and take examinations.
How do I get a place on the course?
You must be in employment in an administration job role. To apply for an apprenticeship you will need to be interviewed
What are the entry requirements?
There are no specific entry requirements for this course but applicants must be eligible for an Apprenticeship in Business and Administration. It is likely that Advanced Apprentices will have some prior experience in a business or administration role to allow them to complete the advanced apprenticeship, although this is not a formal requirement.
What else do I need to know?
You must be employed in an administration role in order to do an apprenticeship. You can apply for apprenticeship vacancies through the National Apprenticeship Service.

Advanced Apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, can progress onto:
The Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Business
Further or higher education to undertake business related or other qualifications, including Foundation Degrees in areas such as Business, Business Management, and Business Administration
A range of Business and Management undergraduate programmes
A range of Business Professional Qualifications at level 4 and above
With additional training, advanced apprentices may be able to progress in their careers to roles including Office Manager, Administration Team Leader, Personal Assistant or a wide range of managerial roles within business.
