Where will this course lead?
This course is ideal as a follow on from the beginner's course or you if you have some previous floristry or flower arranging experience and want to develop it further or just do a refresher. You will build a portfolio of designs across all three modules that are ideal for presenting to employers in the floristry industry or to use as a sales aid if you decide to become self employed.
What will I study?
Autumn Term - will include sympathy designs in 2D and 3D shapes and more sophisticated seasonal (Christmas) designs.
Spring term - focuses on weddings and bridal work - looking at both traditional and contemporary designs, using the latest techniques and materials.
Summer term - investigates a wide range of arrangement styles designed to stretch your creative abilities whilst having fun.
How will this course be delivered?
This course is very practically based with very little written work. It is anticipated that you would create a design most weeks.
What qualifications will I get?
Non-externally-certificated non-FE other provision, Horticulture and Forestry SSA (03.2)
How will I be assessed?
This course is for personal development and is informally assessed by the Tutor with self assessment and evaluation by the student.

What are the entry requirements?
Some previous floristry experience is essential. Students must be aged 16+.
If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview. If you need help completing your application we can help with this too.
What else do I need to know?
The tutors are all professional florists. The tutor will inform you on the first session of any tools and equipment that are required. They will also have a list of suppliers where these will be available.

What can I do after this course?
If you are successful on this course, you will be able to continue studying accredited courses at Rodbaston College, Staffordshire; The Cedars at Wolverhampton; or South Warwickshire College
