Where will this course lead?
This course is ideal for you if you wish for a career in the aerospace industry.
Successful completion of course can lead towards you becoming an airline pilot, aircraft engineer/technician, aerospace design and manufacturing. Also, it can lead to Higher Education (HE) at this College - HND in Aerospace Engineering or to University (BEng (Hons).
What will I study?
You will study 16 units in total - 8 per year, including:
Theory of Flight
Gas Turbine Theory
Aircraft Maintenance Practices
Hydraulic Systems
Workshop
Aircraft Mechanical Science
Mathematics
Electrics and Electronics
Project

How will this course be delivered?
This course is delivered at the Woodlands Campus with external visits to various interesting sites.
What qualifications will I get?
Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
Each of the 16 units is of 3 or 4 modules - assessment is by assignment per module.
How do I get a place on the course?
Places are offered according to existing qualifications, an interview and a screening test.
What are the entry requirements?
Either 4 GCSE passes at Grade A-C to include Maths and Science, or a Level 2 Diploma in a relevant level 2 engineering programme at Merit or Distinction, also a good reference or latest school report and a successful interview.
