Where will this course lead?
This course will lead to Higher Education Level 6 qualifications equivalent to Honours Degree or Graduate Certificates and Diplomas.
What will I study?
The Business and Management programme is an ideal choice if you are looking for a degree that builds on your previous study and offers completion of an Honours degree. It offers you the advantage of the opportunity to obtain Honours degree level proficiency in just one year of study when taken in the full-time mode of study and a minimum of three semesters when taken in the part-time mode of study. The programme is designed to prepare you for a broad range of careers in management, business and related areas. The study of specific areas and functions of business combined with the development of evaluation and analytical skills will enable you to respond creatively to the issues faced in business and management.
You will study modules in: International Management, Self awareness and career Management, Perspectives to Corporate Strategy, Marketing Management, Innovation and Design Management, Managing Knowledge for Competitive Advantage and a Dissertation double Module.
How will this course be delivered?
Part-time mode of study you will either attend one afternoon and an evening or two evenings per week. Attendance is an important part of the course and you need to attend all sessions, attendance policy is part of the programme handbook available during induction.

How will I be assessed?
Assessments are through continuous course work and exams. These assessments will take various forms suitable to a business environment and will contribute towards your employability skills.
How do I get a place on the course?
All applications should be made directly to Solihull College.
What are the entry requirements?
Foundation Degree in Business, Management and Communications awarded by Oxford Brookes University, successfully gaining 240 credits and a 55% grade average Foundation degree in Business and Management or related disciplines in Business, successfully gaining 240 credits and usually a 55% grade average, subject to individual credit rating by Oxford Brookes University. The Higher National Diploma delivered at Solihull College, successfully gaining 240 credits with Merit Profile at level 5. A Higher National Diploma from another institution, successfully gaining 240 credits with Merit Profile at level 5 subject to individual credit rating by Oxford Brookes University. Applicants whose first language is not English, must also demonstrate that their level of English is acceptable by achieving a score in a recognised test.
All students need to possess suitable references and have a successful College interview.

What else do I need to know?
External applicants will require to provide Learning Outcomes and Grades of their Modules achieved at levels 4 and 5 for credit rating by Oxford Brookes University.

What can I do after this course?
You may wish to progress to Level 7 Postgraduate Certificate in Management awarded by Oxford Brookes University, which will allow you to further progress to a Masters Degree.
