Introduction
- The CIM Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing is a challenging high-level qualification for marketers working at, or aspiring to work at a strategic level. A qualification in its own right, it also acts as stage one, in the two-stage CIM Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.
What will be covered in the course?
- Emerging Themes (10 credits): Macro, meso and micro emerging themes and developments in marketing. Analysis and Decision (20 credits): The strategic marketing audit; developing strategic direction; assessing strategic options and decisions; making and justifying strategic marketing decisions. Marketing Leadership and Planning (20 credits): Delivering marketing strategies; strategic marketing planning; market-led strategic change. Managing Corporate Reputation (10 credits): Understanding reputational management; managing the dimensions of reputation; developing effective corporate communications.

Entry Requirements
CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing OR a business or marketing degree (or equivalent) where a minimum of half the credits come from marketing (ie. 180 credits in Bachelor degrees and 90 credits in Masters degrees) AND A range of experience at senior marketing management level so potential students can evidence that they can meet the learning outcomes of the CIM Professional Diploma and is sufficient to pass the Entry Test to Level 7.

CIM Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing (Acts as Stage 1 of the CIM Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing)
How is the course assessed?
Emerging Themes (10 credits): Assignment researching and writing a journal article. Analysis and Decision (20 credits): Pre-seen case study examination. Marketing Leadership and Planning (20 credits): Integrative work-based project. Managing Corporate Reputation (10 credits): Work-related assignment.
Costs
- Course Fee *: £1,495.00 * Payable for each year if the course is longer than 12 months.
Additional costs
- CIM Membership - £200 per annum. CIM exam fees - £90 per unit (x4). Text books - approx £30 per unit (x4)
Attendance and additional study hours
- The course runs over approximately 12 months from September. Classes are one night per week 6.30-9.30pm, with occasional daytime attendance also.
Further information
An Interview is required to join this course. The programme will normally be completed in 4 ten week blocks spanning 15 months. Solihull College offers full time and part time courses for businesses and residents in Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Coventry Warwickshire and the whole of the West Midlands.
