Where will this course lead?
Demonstrate that you have the knowledge needed to succeed in a career in aerospace engineering and maintenance with this City & Guilds qualification.
The Diploma in Aerospace Engineering provides essential knowledge for budding aerospace technicians or engineers.
What will I study?
The seven knowledge-based units include:
- Electrical Fundamentals and Theory of Flight
- Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine Fundamentals
- Aircraft Propellers Fundamentals
- Human Factors in Aircraft Maintenance
- Aviation Mathematics and Science
- Fundamentals of Airframe Construction and Systems
- Fundamentals of Aircraft Electrical and Avionic Systems
How will this course be delivered?
This course is designed to equip a new entrant into the aviation industry with the basic knowledge required as part of their training as an unlicensed aircraft mechanic. The course is delivered at Woodlands Campus and contains a total of seven units.
What qualifications will I get?
Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance (Civil Aircraft) (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through tests, some of which will be online.
How do I get a place on the course?
You will need an interview at Woodlands Campus with a member of the Aerospace Team.
What are the entry requirements?
Minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade D or above including Maths. Or successful completion of a relevant level 1 engineering programme, a suitable reference and a successful interview.
