College opens the door to employment
Students and employers come together at Solihull College’s annual Job Fair.
Hundreds of students visited the College’s Job Fair recently to find out about employment opportunities available to them when they finish their studies and get career advice from industry experts.
West Midlands Police, the Army, Jaguar Land Rover, KPMG, NG Bailey and Solihull Council were among the 30 employers on hand at the event which is organised each year by the College’s Career Co-ordinator Charlotte Hoey and the Employer Services team.
Charlotte Hoey comments: “It’s important that our students are aware of the employment opportunities available to them locally and nationally, particularly those students who plan to head straight into employment after College. This event is a great way for them to explore the different career paths available and get practical advice from the industry experts.”
PC Picken from West Midlands Police hailed the event a success: “This was an excellent way for us to highlight the opportunities that we offer to young people considering a career in the Police Service. The event was very well organised and the students were great too.”
