This course is ideal for anyone working within the hospitality sector in a supervisory role upwards. The advanced apprentice has two pathways that learners can work towards depending on their job role and their career pathway.
You will study a combination of units that will develop practical skills as well as providing theory to improve knowledge and understanding in the context of providing efficient and professional leadership

- Principles of leading a team in the Hospitality Industry
- Supervision of Operations in the Hospitality Industry
- Principles of Supervising Customer Service Performance in Hospitality Leisure Travel
- Supervise Food Service
- Develop working relationships with colleagues
- Lead a team to improve customer service
In addition you will develop valuable skills in English and Maths
The apprenticeship combines regular one to one tutorials in the workplace, independent study and ‘on the job’ learning. You will benefit from ongoing support and guidance from your assessor and will have 24/7 access to your online portfolio. You may be required to attend Functional Skills workshops for Maths and English depending on your previous achievements.

Your assessor will support you to showcase your work in an easy to use e-portfolio. A range of methods will be chosen to assess your vocational knowledge and competence and may include: observations, professional discussions, verbal or written questions, assignments, presentations, work products, reflective accounts, witness testimonies and more!
Functional Skills are assessed via examination – tests are booked throughout the year on demand.
In order to get a place on the course you need to have secured an apprenticeship position with an employer. Apprenticeship vacancies are advertised on our website and you can follow the instructions to apply online. The vacancies provide detailed information about the employer, the job role, location, hours of work and salary/benefits.
- A minimum D/3 grade and above in English and Math’s.
- Working 30 hours a week or more
The advanced apprenticeship in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership is a rolling programme this means that you can join us at any time of the year
On completion of the course learners will be qualified to work within the Hospitality industry at supervisory level and above and will help as part of the career progression route within the sector.
