On successful completion of this one year course, you will have several options to decide from including an apprenticeship, an access programme, a foundation degree at Oxford Brookes, or employment. We will support with any of the options you decide and help you through the UCAS or application process.
Business and Administration is a one year course and is new to the college this year. It is suited to learners who aspire to work as a personal assistant, in an office based or customer service environment. It teaches you a range of skills including how to: Work in an administration environment and team work, Writing business documents, Organising business travel and accommodation, Organising meetings and handling diary systems.
You will have a presentation from the head of MIS (management information systems), Human resources, Solihull MBC. There will also additional trips to show the importance of administration in organisations.
The Business and Administration Diploma at level 3 is both a theoretical and a practical course and will be delivered through a range of teaching methods including lectures, guest speakers, workshops, exams, trips, webinars, Quizziz, Coggle and Powtoon. The lecturers are highly experienced with many years working in industry and some owning and running their own businesses. All classrooms have state of the art facilities including interactive whiteboards, computers and video link software.
Business and Administration level 3 NVQ Diploma OCR (1 year)
You will be studying via a variety of assessment methods including role plays, presentations, written reports, posters, displays and video clips.
You will be working on assignment briefs designed by expert tutors, using employer’s feedback to ensure the content is up to date. We work closely with many local employers and the ‘Solihull Chamber of Commerce’ which is on our campus.
You will need to have as a successful interview with a course tutor.
You will need 4 GCSE’s at grade C/4 and a grade 4 in English or Mathematics or Diploma in Business and Administration Level 2 and functional skills Level 2
You will need to be dressed formally every day on this course. We promote work readiness on this course and whilst we do not enforce a uniform there is an expectation that you will be dressed smartly during your lesson time at Solihull College. This will be discussed at length during interview.
