On successful completion of this course you could go into employment or progress onto a Level 3 Diploma in Painting and Decorating.

What will I study?

-Health, safety and welfare in construction
-Principles of building, construction, information and communication
-Preparing Surfaces for Decoration
-Applying Paint Systems by Brush and Roller to complex areas
-Applying standard wallpapers and hangings to walls and ceilings
-Producing Specialist finishes for decorative work
-Applying and Creating Colour
-Erecting and Dismantling Access Equipment and Working Platforms

How will this course be delivered?

Three quarters of this course involves practical assignments in the Painting and Decorating workshop and the rest is based around knowledge based activities.

Our dedicated painting and decorating lecturers strive to deliver training at the highest level.

What qualifications will I get?

Diploma level 2 in Painting and Decorating (QCF)

How will I be assessed?

To pass this course you will have to successfully complete all practical and Job knowledge assessments and pass two on line end exams.
All assessments are carried out by the qualified assessors in line with the awarding body and industrial standards.

How do I get a place on the course?

Apply online and, then you will be invited for an interview and to undertake initial assessment for Maths and English. If successful then we will make a conditional offer to study on the course.

What are the entry requirements?

Level 1 Diploma in Painting and Decorating and level 1 Maths and English functional skill.

What else do I need to know?

You will be required to provide safety boots and appropriate clothes to wear in the workshop.

You will also be expected to provide your on stationary (e.g. pens, pencils and A4 folders)

Good level of English and Maths is important for you to be successful in your course,. Throughout your course you will continue to develop your English and Maths skills.

If you haven't achieved an A*/9 - C/4 grade in English and Maths at GCSE, or a Level 2 Functional Skills, then you will required be work towards the qualification in English or Maths at a level that will enable you to progress.

What can I do after this course?

If you successfully pass this course you can apply to progress on to the Level 3 diploma in Painting or go into employment.
