Introduction:

The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is the industry's largest scheme and, at present, covers 220 occupations including trades, technical, supervisory and management.
CSCS cards list the holder’s qualifications and are valid for either three or five years. It also shows they have health and safety awareness as all cardholders have to pass the appropriate CITB-Construction Skills Health and Safety Test.
Most contractors and clients now demand proof of competence, before allowing workers onto their sites, which is provided by a CSCS card.

Not having a CSCS card may affect your ability to work on certain sites.

Step 1 How to enrol

• You will be asked for your name, date of birth, home address and national insurance number.
• We will apply for your registration number (this usually takes up to 5 working days)
• We will book the test at the Construction Centre at Griffin Business Park at a convenient time for you.
• You will be charged £25.00 for the test.

Step 2 Health and Safety test

• You will be sent a letter telling you when you will take your test
• You will be told what paperwork you need to bring with you for example photo ID such as a passport or driving licence.

Step 3 Revising for the test

• You can buy a construction health and safety test question book from most bookshops to help you with the test

or

• You can attend a one day training event at Solihull College for which you will be charged £75.00

Step 4 Applying for the card

• When you pass the test you will be given a certificate that you use to apply for the CSCS card.

Concessionary Course Fees:
