Dedication to Education
Solihull College Early Years tutor wins award for commitment to learning.
College tutor Jackie Musgrave has been announced winner of the University of Sheffield Early Years Education Award after graduating from the University last month with a Masters degree in Childhood Education.
The award, which is sponsored by the prestigious Rutland Hotel chain, recognises high quality work produced by students studying Childhood Education at the University as well as their dedication to learning.
Jackie completed her degree through a two year Distance Learning Programme and continued to work in her full time teaching position at the College throughout her studies.
As part of the award, Jackie received £100 cash, an engraved paperweight and a complimentary stay at the Rutland Hotel in Sheffield for herself and family.
Jackie said: “I didn’t expect to win, it came completely out of the blue. Although it was tough at times, I really enjoyed studying for my degree. It has definitely influenced the way I teach and my students have also shown an interest in my studies which is great. I’m now studying for my Doctorate degree in Early Childhood and Education.”
