Where will this course lead?
Develop your skills in ICT (Computers), whether for education, employment or recreation.
The course is designed to give you more advanced practical skills in using Information Technology applications.
What will I study?
To achieve this qualification, candidates must pass the following units:
Mandatory unit:
Improving productivity using IT
Plus the following units:
Presentation software
Word Processing software
Spreadsheet software
How will this course be delivered?
A two-hour lesson each week over the academic year. Additional home study may be required.
What qualifications will I get?
Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra) (ITQ) (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
Four practical examinations taken over the academic year are undertaken at the centre and assessed by the course tutors.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements for the qualification, however a good understanding and application of computing is essential, or ideally you should hold a level 1 IT qualification. An informal discussion with the course tutor prior to enrolment is desirable.
Students must be aged 16+.
