Where will this course lead?
This course is ideal if you have recently left school and want take the first steps to develop your work and life skills in the sport and leisure industry.
The course will develop you so that you can apply the skills learned into a job or move up onto a level 2 Sport course.
What will I study?
You will learn:
How the body works
How to take part in various exercise and fitness sessions
How to look after keep yourself healthy
About various job opportunities in sport and active leisure
About the rights and responsibility you have at work
Maths, English and IT will be an important part of your course. You will continue to develop these skills and may work towards a qualification at an appropriate level.
How will this course be delivered?
The course will be delivered in a practical manner providing a realistic tasks set from the sport and active leisure industry. This will make maximum use of practical activities to gain an understanding of sport and active leisure related subjects.
What qualifications will I get?
BTEC Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
To pass this course you will need to complete a variety of assessments such as:
Practical assignments and Course work
Role plays,

Direct Observation/ Video Observation

Places are offered following a successful interview and a reference.
What are the entry requirements?
Two GCSE's at Grade E plus a successful interview

What else do I need to know?
Successful applicants will need to purchase college logo kit to be worn during practical lessons. Further payment will also be required to pay for any intended trips and visits.
