This course is ideal for you if you want to work in the IT industry specialising in programming and website development.

How will this course be delivered?
You will be assessed continually by unit assignments over the course of two years. You will be assessed on nine units in year one and nine in year two.
A proportion of the units will be practically assessed ranging from installing hardware and software to demonstrating programming skills to clients/assessors.
What qualifications will I get?
Extended Diploma in IT (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
You will be continually assessed by unit assignments although there are no external examinations some portion of units may be assessed by tests.
How do I get a place on the course?
Places are offered dependent on evidence of excellent predicted grades and a good tutor reference from your previous course. You may also be tested for English, Maths and ICT skills during induction to ensure you are on the right course.
What are the entry requirements?
4 GCSEs at Grade 'C' or above including English and Maths
Or
Merit at Level 2 First Diploma and Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths.
Successful Completion of Induction Process.

What else do I need to know?
Part of the course you will be required to undertake Deloitte Employability Skills and you will be required to dress formally for these sessions.
You need to bring a pen, notebooks and folders to every lesson. It is expected that you will bring a memory stick to save and back up your work.
You will be required to contribute towards trips associated with curriculum

What can I do after this course?
Many students will progress to our HND at Solihull, Universities, or enter employment.
Is there anything else I will have to pay for in order to do this course?
Educational trips are part of our course and students will be expected to contribute towards them, this must be paid at enrolment.
You will be required to contribute £50 towards trips.
You will need to buy books relating to your course units.
