Where will this course lead?
The one year Diploma course is an ideal stepping stone for those who wish to work in electrical or electronic engineering. All students will initially enrol on this course.
On completion of year 1, students may continue for a further year to obtain the Extended Diploma.
Alternatively students may find employment or apprenticeships within the manufacturing or maintenance sectors.

How will this course be delivered?
The course involves classroom theory and practical sessions in the electronic laboratories. The electrical and electronic facilities consist of well equipped workshops.

Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (QCF)

Assessment is via course work and practical assignments.
How do I get a place on the course?
Minimum qualifications for entry are:
Four GCSEs at Grade C or above and a successful interview. Of these, Mathematics and English are mandatory.
A level 2 qualification in an electrical or other engineering field will be considered.
Mature candidates with other qualifications/experience will be considered.

What can I do after this course?
On completion of the Diploma, students can:
continue study for 1 year to gain the Extended Diploma
find employment as technicians or apprenticeships
progress to HNC/D following a successful interview
Is there anything else I will have to pay for in order to do this course?
Not if under 18 when joining the course.
