Where will this course lead?
Improve your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Build your confidence with English and develop your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills for different purposes.
This courses runs for 4 weeks during the Summer.
What will I study?
Learn about English grammar, sentence structure and new vocabulary. Take part in a project to develop your research and presentation skills. Try different challenges to suit your level of your English.
By the end of the Summer School students feel more confident with speaking and using English. You will have the opportunity to meet new people from around the world.
On the last day of summer school, you will be presented with an English Language course certificate from Solihull College and enjoy a party to celebrate what you have learned.
How will this course be delivered?
This is a 4 week course.
You will take part in ESOL English lessons each day, Mondays to Fridays, 9.30am-12.30pm.
What qualifications will I get?
This course is designed to improve your English skills. No qualification is available, but you may wish to enrol on the main ESOL programme starting in September, where you will study a Skills for Life qualification.

Tutor assessment.

What are the entry requirements?
Entry will be assessed at interview.
Students must be 16+ (Age on 31 August of that academic year).
Minimum Entry Level 1 English.
Residents of countries outside the EU will be subject to a higher course fee.
What else do I need to know?
Student residencies are available if you would like to stay at the Blossomfield campus. The rooms are for single occupancy, all with en-suite bathroom facilities, study desk and optional internet connection. Each flat consists of 5 private study rooms and a modern shared kitchen. The halls have a safe and spacious environment with 24-hour security.
Solihull College offers full time and part time courses for businesses and residents in Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Coventry Warwickshire and the whole of the West Midlands.
What can I do after this course?
Further ESOL/English courses are available at Solihull College, including ESOL up to Skills for Life Level 2, ESOL for Work and an IELTS practice course.
Is there anything else I will have to pay for in order to do this course?
You may be required to purchase text books.
