If you need financial assistance to support your studies we have two bursaries available to help you – the Enhanced Bursary and the Discretionary Bursary.
The Enhanced Bursary is £1,200 and is paid over the year to help towards the costs of coming to College. To be eligible for the Enhanced Bursary one of the following must apply to you:
- In care
- A care leaver
- In receipt of income support (independent student on means tested benefit in own right)
- Disabled and in receipt of Employment Support Allowance
- Disabled and in receipt of Disability Living Allowance
To be eligible for the Discretionary Bursary you must:
- Enrol on a full-time FE course
- Be at least 16 but under 19 years of age on 31 August 2011
- Be a dependant member of a household receiving benefits (except Child Tax Credit)
- Have a household income of less than £20,817
- Have been resident in England or Wales for the last three years (unless you were here only for study). Residents of Scotland or Northern Ireland are not eligible for this support.
