Get Involved
Here's your chance to get involved with activities at Solihull College. Please read below to find out more.
Student Ambassadors
The College’s student ambassadors support the work of the marketing team by playing a vital role in promoting the College and showing prospective students and other visitors all that Solihull College has to offer.
The role of an ambassador is varied – from staffing a stand at a careers fair, giving a presentation at a school assembly, to showing people around the College campuses. The ambassador programme offers students the chance to develop their public speaking and team work skills and build upon their confidence and communication skills.

Student Editors
We are always on the lookout for exciting stories, reviews and features and who better to ask than our students to become Student Editors!
The Focus Newsletter is a publication created by Solihull College especially for students and consists of success stories, college updates, career information and event reviews.
The role of Student Editor will provide an invaluable opportunity, but will boost the confidence of our students by working with staff and students of all levels – and will look great on your CV! Being a Student Editor will also see you being involved in important decisions regarding the magazines, it may be that you are asked to conduct surveys, or chair focus groups. It is important that you are enthusiastic and committed – after all, It’s your magazine!
There are various events run throughout the College calendar spread over 3 terms, as a Student Editor you will be required to attend these events and complete reviews for forthcoming editions of the Focus Newsletter. The marketing team are always on hand to provide support and proofing your article so you needn’t worry if spelling and grammar are not your strong points. The role of Student Editor is open to all students and for each article we print we will award you with a touchwood gift card!
Student Council
We invite students to become representatives for their courses at Student Council. A similar system operates for our Higher Education courses. Students are also represented at Governing Body level with two Student Governors elected to give a vital students perspective on the running of the College.
When you join the College, your tutors, staff in Student Services and the Student Liaison team will provide you with the information on the ways that you can broaden your experience by getting involved as a student representative and in our programme of enrichment and volunteering activities.
