Get involved
We know that College life is about more than just studying so whether you're looking for fun or relaxation, on campus or off, life at Solihull College has something for you. Here's your chance to get involved with activities at Solihull College.
Student Liaison
Our Student Liaison Team plan trips, activities, sports and themed weeks to make sure that your time outside of lessons is as interesting and exciting as possible
During the year, students can go on day trips to Alton Towers, the Clothes Show, shopping and sightseeing in London and paintballing. Every year Student Liaison also organise Freshers Fairs as well as events around Black History Month, and fundraising for local and national charities.
You can take part in a range of sporting activities such as football, badminton, table tennis and cricket.
The Student Liaison team also provide access to a College Nurse, offer informal workshops on drug and alcohol awareness and sexual health, organise Student Council meetings and provide volunteering opportunities.
Student Ambassadors
The College's student ambassadors support the work of the marketing team by playing a vital role in promoting the College and showing prospective students and other visitors all that Solihull College has to offer.
The role of an ambassador is varied - from staffing a stand at a careers fair, giving a presentation at a school assembly, to showing people around the College campuses. The ambassador programme offers students the chance to develop their public speaking and team work skills and build upon their confidence and communication skills.
Student Council
We invite students to become representatives for their courses at Student Council. A similar system operates for our Higher Education courses. Students are also represented at Governing Body level with two Student Governors elected to give a vital students perspective on the running of the College.
When you join the College, your tutors, staff in Student Services and the Student Liaison team will provide you with the information on the ways that you can broaden your experience by getting involved as a student representative and in our programme of enrichment and volunteering activities.
