Staff and students get sporty with Activ8 - a Solihull College event to promote the benefits of exercise and encourage more students to take up sport.
A host of activities ran throughout the day including boxing, basketball and cheerleading, as well as a speed rowing competition which saw staff and students go head to head for the chance to win free gym membership.
Representatives from local sports clubs, including 2009 European Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion Paul Gilmore from Birmingham Combat Sport Centre, were also on hand to offer inspiration and advice.
Brett Rosenbaum, Student Liaison Sports Co-ordinator, who organised the event said: “After Christmas, many students want to get active and lead healthier lifestyles so it’s important that they’re aware of all the opportunities available to them either at College or through local sports clubs. We want to see as many of our students as possible enjoying sport and keeping fit. ”
Any sports clubs wanting to get involved with future College events can contact Brett in the Student Liaison Team on 0121 678 7000.
