Where will this course lead?
The course is an ideal stepping stone for those who wish to progress to electrical/electronic technology management or gain professional recognition by progression to Incorporated Engineer Status.
What will I study?
To gain the Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering qualification you must achieve a minimum of 120 credits of which 50 are mandatory core units which consist of Analytical Methods for Engineers, Engineering Science, Project Design, Implementation and Evaluation. The remainder credits are achieved through optional modules which include Electrical and Electronic Principles, Electrical Power, Further Mathematics for Technicians.
How will this course be delivered?
The course is delivered through various assignments that cover 120 credits over 2 years these will taught through practical demonstrations, workshops and lectures.
What qualifications will I get?
BTEC HNC Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
All modules are assessed by assignments; each unit's assessment is matched to the content of the unit. Each unit can be assessed at Pass, Merit or Distinction levels, which are combined at the end of the qualification to give an overall grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction for the qualification.
How do I get a place on the course?
Entry to the course is dependent upon successful interview and meeting the entry requirements
What are the entry requirements?
A BTEC National Qualification or at least one A Level in an appropriate subject or An NVQ Level 3 qualification.
Mature students, who do not meet these academic qualifications, will have relevant work or life experience taken into consideration.
All students need to be able to demonstrate competency in English and Maths, possess suitable references and have a successful College interview.

What can I do after this course?
It is possible to gain entrance to the second year, of a three year degree.- Progress to a professional incorporation by the completion of bridging studies and professional interview.
Is there anything else I will have to pay for in order to do this course?
We have a wide selection of library books and electronic books for you to use for this course. There is no set text. You will be expected to supply your own stationery such as folders, paper and pens. Connection to the internet is expected, but facilities are available at College to do this if necessary.
