Jo Williams
EON CIPD, Professional Development Scheme
“I am currently studying the CIPD Professional Development Scheme at Solihull College and chose this as part of my personal development plan with my employer".
It’s an opportunity for me to gain professional status, which is recognised internally, and will support my future career progression and ambition within my organisation.
“It’s also an attractive long term qualification for my CV, which will help in my career as a HR professional. I am a Talent Specialist for EON, responsible for the development of an international leadership pipeline of graduates and the identification and development of middle management within the UK.
“The best thing about the course is having the opportunity to shape the course – I’m a student representative, so that means that I get to work with both the students and lecturers, offering feedback and continually improving the learning experience for all.
“Solihull College provides a very supportive and friendly learning atmosphere – whether it’s socialising with fellow students, discussing the best sources for your next assignment with the librarians or talking through your coursework and exam preparation with the lecturers.
“It’s up to you to provide the inner drive to achieve the qualification but there is an excellent support network available to support you along your journey. In the future, I would love to be a lecturer, to coach or tutor the CIPD would be my ideal goal.”
