Introduction
- On completion, you will gain an NCFE LEVEL 2 AWARD IN DEVELOPING SKILLS FOR SUPPORTING TEACHING AND LEARNING IN SCHOOLS. The course is ideal for anyone who would like to work in the classroom. It offers a gentle reintroduction to education and gives the student the opportunity to make an informed choice at the end of the course as to which way to progress. It is suitable for anyone not possessing the qualifications required to enter directly onto the Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification.

What qualification(s) can be gained?
NCFE Award in Developing Skills for Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools - Level 2.
How is the course assessed?
Assessment will be made on a portfolio put together throughout the duration of the course, the work completed whilst on placement including the observation and on team work during taught sessions.
Costs
- Course Fee *: £120.00 Examination Fee: £63.00 * Payable for each year if the course is longer than 12 months.
Additional costs
- Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (CRB Check): £40.00
Attendance and additional study hours
- 2- 2 1/2 hours per week for duration of the course. Day and evening courses available. A placement of one half day per week, working within a school environment. for the duration of the course is also a requirement.
Further information
In addition to attending College once a week, a placement in a School will need to be secured for one half day per week for the duration of the course. An observation will also take place prior to the end of the placement. Solihull College offers full time and part time courses for businesses and residents in Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Coventry Warwickshire and the whole of the West Midlands.
Next steps
