ILM Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Executive Management
I’ve worked for the same company for 15 years and had vast industry and internal company experience. I felt my personal development had slowed so decided to challenge myself. I enrolled at Solihull College to study the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Management.
“I had considered distance learning as well as Solihull College as each gave different solutions and routes. But for me it was interacting with lecturers who have first hand experience in business that gave me the confidence I needed at a time when I was apprehensive.
“The best thing about studying the ILM courses at the College was sharing the learning experience with other managers from other industries. You quickly develop relationships that become a support network as you work through the series of assignments.
“The most challenging part was getting the work life balance right. You have to commit to the course which was difficult at first but once a routine is set it quickly becomes part of you.
“I achieved great personal satisfaction from completing the Level 5 course. People commented on how my approaches had changed and how much more effective I was. I decided to progress onto the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Executive Management.
“In future, I would very much like to gain a MBA qualification. Two years ago I never would have thought it possible but now it’s within reach.”
