Where will this course lead?

Achieving the Diploma will create a wide range of opportunities. You will be able to go directly into work or continue studying at a higher level. You will be qualified to apply for level 3 courses across the range of Business courses offered at Level 3.

What will I study?

A variety of units related to running a business including marketing, finance, human resources, production and the business environment. These units are taught in relation to developing a Business Plan that could be implemented.

Specific units to develop your business and personal skills which will help you with employability, organisation, communication and planning.

How will this course be delivered?

This qualification is ideally suited to students wishing to study Business in a practical 'hands on' way. The course is delivered by a combination of formal taught lessons, workshops, tutorials, group activities in a classroom based environment.

What qualifications will I get?

BTEC Diploma in Understanding Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (QCF)

How will I be assessed?

In a variety of ways including presentations, written reports, exhibitions, role plays, group activities, working for outside employers, video and animation technology and in some situations you will be required to produce work in a time constrained way.

How do I get a place on the course?

Places are offered by interview with the course tutors.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need a minimum of 2 GCSEs at C grade or above which include either maths or English. You will be interviewed by a member of the course team and you will be expected to bring a reference.

What else do I need to know?

You need to bring pen, notebooks and folders to every lesson. It is expected that you will bring a memory stick to save and back up your work.

What can I do after this course?

The majority of students who are successful on this course progress to study Business at level 3. Ideally to progress on to the L3 Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship but also to the BTEC Diplomas in Business or the specialist Finance at L3.

Is there anything else I will have to pay for in order to do this course?

You will need to pay £45 which is a contribution to participating in study visits. You will need to buy appropriate stationary and text books to help you study.
