What will I study?
- Shampooing
- Health and safety
- Client consultation
- Cut hair using basic barbering techniques
- Cut facial hair
- Dry and finish hair
- Maths and English will be an important part of your course. You will continue to develop these skills and may work towards a qualification at an appropriate level.
How will this course be delivered?
The practical elements of this course will be delivered in the college commercial salons and
the other half of the programme involves assignments, external tests and portfolio building.
What qualifications will I get?
NVQ Diploma in Barbering (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by practical observations, course work, assignments and external tests.
How do I get a place on the course?
Places are offered by interview and a screening test.
What are the entry requirements?
- Minimum two GCSE at grade D
- Satisfactory reference

What else do I need to know?
- A minimum of 85% attendance Is needed to complete the course however,100% is expected.
- One week of work experience.
