Where will this course lead?
This course is ideal therapy.You must be qualified to a level 3 standard and wish to work in an educational setting.
What will I study?
How to assess candidates competence and knowledge across all methods of assessment
The principles of the assessment process
Observe good practice in the field of assessment
Develop skills in giving feedback
Develop an understanding of recording assessment decisions
Develop skills in making consistent, sound assessment judgements in all methods of assessments
How will this course be delivered?
This course will be delivered over 4 consecutive weeks for two hours per week
These sessions will cover knowledge and understanding. Students will submit written assignments to confirm knowledge. Minimum of 25 hours of home study required.
Volunteer placement for 3 hours a week to shadow experienced assessor and access candidates with learners at level 2 or above
What qualifications will I get?
Level 3 certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement

Continual assessment through observation

Professional discussion
How do I get a place on the course?
Interview by tutor giving evidence of references, CV, Certificates confirming qualifications
Tutor will then issue course acceptance and you will enrol at either Blossomfield or Woodlands Campus from June
What are the entry requirements?
NVQ Level 3 in either Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy or Sports Therapy and recent industrial experience
Reference from a recent employer within vocational area
What else do I need to know?
This course is delivered at Woodlands but shadowing can be done at either Woodlands or Blossomfield campus
