Where will this course lead?
This course follows on from the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electrical / Electronic to provide a sound basis for those who wish to work as electrical engineers or technicians within the manufacturing or maintenance sectors.
Those who wish to progress can study for the HNC /HND in Electronics at Solihull College. Alternatively students may use the qualification to gain sufficient points for entry to University.
What will I study?
The units that will be studied may include:
Three-phase Motors
Analogue Electronics
Further Electrical Principles
Further Mathematics
Electrical Installation etc
How will this course be delivered?
The course involves classroom theory and practical sessions in the well- equipped electronic laboratories.
What qualifications will I get?
Extended Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is via course work and practical assignments.
How do I get a place on the course?
Places are offered after an interview for candidates who have already completed the Diploma course in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
What are the entry requirements?
Either 4 GCSE passes at Grade A-C to include Maths and Science, or a Level 2 Diploma in a relevant level 2 engineering programme at Merit or Distinction, also a good reference or latest school report and a successful interview.
