Where will this course lead?
This course is ideal for you if you work regularly and extensively with databases at work and want to learn how to use them to the full.
What will I study?
Archiving data - make an archive table, append and delete queries
Creating an update query to do repetitive updates
Creating a crosstab query to display related data
Creating many to many relationships between tables
Creating a switchboard for a more professional front end to your database
Creating a macro to automate tasks
How will this course be delivered?
The course is very practical and hands on in a computer room. Each skill will be demonstrated on a Smart board to the whole class then each student can try it for themselves. Practice tasks are assigned throughout the day for each student to work at independently but with the teacher's assistance when required. Questions are encouraged. Discussion of each other's work experience and business practice is often useful to everyone.
What qualifications will I get?
Vocational study not leading to a recognised qualification, Information and Communication Technology (SSA 6)
How will I be assessed?
There is no assessment. However certificates of attendance are given.
How do I get a place on the course?
Training Needs Analysis forms are available for each student to complete. This will help you decide which level course is suitable for you.

This course may also be delivered at another of the college sites or at your workplace.
A sandwich lunch is included and tea or coffee at breaks.
