Where will this course lead?
The Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification is a new, entry-level certification designed to help individuals take the first step toward a career as an IT professional or developer.
An MTA certification is based on 80 percent knowledge and 20 percent skills. The next step in the Microsoft certification path is Microsoft Technology Specialist (MCTS), which requires hands-on experience with the Microsoft technology platform.
Students who satisfy the minimum pass level, for the above vendor exam(s), as defined by Microsoft at the time of taking the online exam, will be awarded the following:-

This course is one of the 'blended learning' series from the Microsoft IT Academy at Solihull College. Providing IT professional access to the latest Microsoft certification courses with high quality, flexible learning systems.
The 'blended learning' courses comprise of components to facilitate effective self directed learning, with flexible start and attendance date to meet your individual needs.
This course offers bookable hands-on practice labs in our Academy open access lab facility that assist students in becoming proficient in the skills needed to support the Microsoft technology.
The student kit includes relevant comprehensive Microsoft Official Curriculum workbook(s) and other necessary materials for this class.
Students will also receive 150 days access to Microsoft's internet e-learning system, with relevant e-learning course materials.
Access to MSDN AA to enable students to download Microsoft operating systems and applications to create and develop their own practice lab environments, for your academic use only. Conditions and systems requirements apply.

On-line exam preparation and assessment with MeasureUP test practice system.
This course is available to study in daytime or evening sessions.
What qualifications will I get?
Vocational study not leading to a recognised qualification, Information and Communication Technology (SSA 6)
How will I be assessed?
There is no formal examination required; however students may take the external Microsoft examination, typically three weeks from end of course.

Examinations must be taken at our in-house Authorised Certiport testing centre at Specialist IT Training.
The course includes continual assessments.
How do I get a place on the course?
Places are offered by interview.
What are the entry requirements?
Candidates for this exam are seeking to prove introductory knowledge of and skills with databases, including relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server. It is recommended that candidates be familiar with the concepts of and have hands-on experience with the technologies described here either by taking relevant training courses or by working with tutorials and samples available on MSDN and in Microsoft Visual Studio. Although minimal hands-on experience with the technologies is recommended, job experience is not assumed for these exams.
Candidates for this exam are in the process of expanding their knowledge and skills in the following areas:
