Where will this course lead?
Develop your skills in ICT (Computers), whether for education, employment or recreation.
The course will focus on the skills required to help improve or gain employment in an office environment where everyday computing skills are required.
What will I study?
To achieve this qualification, candidates must achieve 9 credits made up of 3 units from the following:
Word Processing Software
Spreadsheet Software
Database Software
Presentation Software
Using Email
Using the Internet
How will this course be delivered?
A two-hour lesson each week over the academic year.
What qualifications will I get?
Award in IT User Skills (ITQ) (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
Three practical examinations taken over the academic year are undertaken at the centre and assessed by the course tutors.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements for the qualification, however a basic understanding and application of computing is essential.
Students must be aged 16+.

What can I do after this course?
Those students who are successful in achieving this qualification may progress to ITQ level 2 or other more advanced IT programmes.
