Introduction:
This short course is ideal for all individuals who would like to improve their skills of communication with others.
Good communicators are able to get information across to others effortlessly and know exactly how to forge efficient and effective working relationships with colleagues. People with well developed interpersonal skills are usually the ones who get noticed - and promoted - before the rest and are also the ones who enjoy greater job satisfaction. On this one day course you will learn how to improve your interpersonal skills and contribute to better communications in the workplace.
After attending this course participants will have the ability to:
- Identify what, when and why you need to communicate with others and the barriers there are to this process
- Understand the principles and practice of assertiveness
- Utilise appropriate techniques of persuasion and negotiation
- Understand and utilise methods of conflict resolution
There will be a high level of group participation including practical work and group discussion.

- Listening and questioning techniques
- Assertiveness
- Persuasion and negotiation techniques

- Gaining co-operation and commitment from others
- Forum theatre
