Where will this course lead?
All sprayer operators are required to have adequate training in the safe use of pesticides and equipment. We offer a one day training course to prepare for testing. Foundation module PA1 Foundation module and PA6 hand held applicators module.
What will I study?
This certificate will cover:
The foundation module (PA1) which must be passed before taking any further tests
Current legislation
Preparing pesticides for use
Transport and storage of pesticides
Disposal techniques
Record keeping
Interpreting product labels
Selecting and using protective clothing
Dealing with contamination and environmental safety
Hand held applicators PA6 for those using knapsack and similar hand held sprayers
General safety and routine maintenance of sprayer
Adjustment, setting and calibration
Measuring and mixing pesticides
Operating the hand held sprayer
Decontamination of the sprayer
Protective clothing
How will this course be delivered?
One day course plus examination
What qualifications will I get?
Vocational study not leading to a recognised qualification, Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Care (SSA 3)

The course is assessed by on-line test and practical assessment
