Introduction:
Any member of your organisation with responsibility for installing, maintaining or testing electrical appliances, such as administrators, safety officers, supervisors and technicians.
Under the Electricity at Work Regulations employers are required to inspect and test all portable appliances regularly. Your own people can be trained to carry out these tests, enabling your organisation to fulfil its legal obligations in a manner which is convenient for your people and far cheaper than using electrical contractors.
After attending this course participants will have the ability to:
- understand the organisation’s responsibilities under the Electricity at Work Regulations
- identify and classify portable appliances
- set up and maintain a regular system of testing
- make and enforce judgements regarding the safety of an appliance
- create and maintain a suitable system for recording test results
