Smith's Wood Sports College

"In our partnership with Solihull College, Smith's Wood Sports College staff have received tremendous support and guidance which has enabled many of our staff across all areas, including lunchtime supervisors, site officers and administrative staff, to develop and diversify their roles within our college.

This in turn has led to increased self-confidence and has further enhanced a desire for staff to develop and to continue their skills.Solihull College proved themselves to be adaptable to their customer's needs; when a large number of our teaching assistants could not get to their site, they sent the tutor to us.

This sort of dedication as a training provider encourages organisations to work with the college, promoting stronger links and a commitment to lifelong learning for all of our staff. In addition, as part of our commitment to workforce reform and work life balance, we hosted a superb day organised by Solihull College which included a further 13 schools.

A total of 87 staff experienced a quality display of the wide range of courses including taster sessions such as reflexology, flower arranging, salsa dancing and tai chi to name but a few!

In conclusion, I feel that our partnership with Solihull College is a win, win situation. We will continue to encourage our staff to undertake training which enhances the provision they give to our students and themselves."
