Solihull College celebrates apprenticeships
This year’s National Apprenticeship Week (1st-5th Feb) kicks off at Solihull College.
National Apprenticeship Week celebrates the talent and skills of the nation’s apprentices and promotes the opportunities that apprenticeships offer.
To mark the week, the College has launched a series of career evenings to give young people the chance to find out about the apprenticeships it offers as well as other vocational courses available.
Students on the College’s sport apprenticeship programmes will also be taking part in this year’s campaign. They’ll be joining hundreds of other apprentices in London later this week to promote the diversity of apprenticeship roles within the sports industry at a national event run by SkillsActive – the skills council for the sport and leisure sector.
With its 2009 Apprentice Success Rate at 82% - much higher than the national average of 70%, Solihull College offers a broad range of apprenticeship programmes from Business Administration to Engineering.
College Principal Brenda Sheils comments: “This campaign allows us to celebrate the success of our apprentices with the rest of the nation. It also gives us a chance to recognise the contribution of the hundreds of employers who are participating in apprenticeship schemes through the College. We encourage anybody who has ever considered an apprenticeship to take advantage of this week and find out about the many opportunities they offer.”
Solihull College offers apprenticeships across Birmingham, Warwickshire and the West Midlands
