Solihull College is first choice for international business
Solihull College is providing top training for global automotive giant.
IAC (International Automotive Components) – which develops and produces high quality products for the automotive industry, recently, approached the College in search of a specialised business training programme for a number of its young employees based in Birmingham and across the West Midlands.
After listening to the needs of the company, the College’s dedicated Employer Services team and expert tutors devised a specialised two year programme to help develop the staff across a range of areas including:
- Engineering
- Manufacturing
- Quality control
- Maintenance
- Finance
- Sales and Marketing
- Purchasing
- HR
- Logistics
The trainees range from 16-23 years and have regular contact with the College’s tutors who support and asses their development.
HR Manager for IAC, Rebecca Backhurst, who contacted the College is thrilled with the tailor made programme: “Solihull College has been outstanding and really adapted to our needs. The team has provided us with a training framework which can be used to develop staff in a range of areas from engineering to finance.” She said. “The trainees have added real value to IAC and because of their varied skills, have provided extra support to tightly stretched departments which is great, especially in the current economic climate.”
The College’s Employer Services team recently achieved the prestigious Training Quality Standard (TQS) which recognises commitment to delivering quality training and development opportunities for employers. The award confirmed Solihull College Employer Services’ reputation as one of the leading business training and management training providers in the Birmingham, West Midlands and Warwickshire region.
Paul Bates from Employer Services said: “We’re pleased that we have been able to accommodate IAC and that the staff are benefiting from our bespoke programme. We aim to provide employers with flexible and relevant training solutions and this is a great example of how we are doing just that.”
