Solihull College set for digital success
Solihull College wins national recognition for its use of digital technology. . .
The College has been accepted as a member of the prestigious Technology Exemplar Network – a body made up of training providers across the UK which promotes the value of digital technology in further education.
As one of only 61 applicants to be selected from a total of 220, the College has been recognised particularly for its commitment to transforming teaching and learning through its use of computers and the internet.
The network is led by BECTA - the government agency which monitors and promotes the use of technology in education, and the Learning Skills Council (LSC).
As a member of the network, Solihull College will now be working with schools and colleges across the nation to share and develop ideas of how best to use technology to create a more exciting and rewarding experience for learners.
Paul Dyson, the College’s Information and Learning Technology (ILT) Development Manager, comments: “Being a part of this network recognises our commitment to getting the very best out of technology. It will provide us with a forum to share best practise with other colleges and we’re delighted to be a part of it. Technology plays a huge part in today’s education system so it’s important that we utilise the many benefits it can offer to our students.”
Jane Williams, BECTA’s Executive Director for Further Education said:
“The effective and creative use of technology in learning is the key to better results for learners, their local communities and employers. BECTA is committed to helping FE and skills providers harness the power of technology to improve the learning experience and attainment while offering greater efficiencies.”
