Solihull College Sports students will be coaching some of the borough’s youngest football talent as part of this year’s National Colleges’ Week (9-15 November).
A group of first and second year football students will be visiting Sharman’s Cross Primary School where they’ll be holding after school coaching sessions for pupils during the week - which aims to promote the opportunities that colleges create for schools, businesses and the wider community.
The sessions have been designed by the students to help school children of all ages who are interested in football develop new skills and learn more about the game.
College Principal Brenda Sheils said: “Colleges’ Week is an opportunity for us to celebrate the excellent work that our students do and the role that they play in our community. These sessions will provide pupils with an outlet to develop new skills in an area they are interested in. I’d like to congratulate all of our students involved in this exciting programme.”
The College will also be working with other schools across the borough to run a series of sports sessions for pupils throughout the academic year.
