Students’ career set for take off
Solihull College Travel and Tourism students are on cloud 9 after landing dream jobs with top airlines.
The three Cabin Crew students haven’t even completed their Level Three College course yet and already they’ve been snapped up by renowned airlines Monarch and Easy Jet.
The trio made up of Natalie Hibbert aged 19 , 18 year old Bethany Cooper and Lauren Hopkins aged 20 have been studying Cabin Crew and Aviation Operations with the College since September 2008 and are set to start their new jobs in June once they’ve completed the programme.
Tutor Ian Boulton is delighted with the news: “Year after year our students continue to land employment in the industry that they’ve worked so hard to get into. I’m really proud of the girls and wish them every success in their new careers.”
The College’s Cabin Crew and Aviation Operations course covers everything from air cabin safety and emergency procedures to communications and customer service. Practical sessions include practicing rescue procedures using smoke filled cabins, airport trips and short/long haul flights.
Lauren comments: “I think the course has given us all a real insight into the industry which will definitely give us a head start in our new roles. We’re all over the moon and can’t wait to start next month.”
