This course is ideal for you if you have an interest in a career in sport specifically in coaching a range of sports activities. You could also progress into Higher Education.
This course is ideal for you if you have recently left school and wish to follow a career in the sports industry

How will this course be delivered?
Half of this course involves working in the classroom on different sporting aspects. The other half of this course is working practically on developing a wide range of skills and putting them into action

BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Sport (QCF)
How will I be assessed?
To pass this course in each unit you will be assessed through 100% coursework and practical assessments
How do I get a place on the course?
You will be invited to an information evening for sport upon application. Places are offered by interview and a successful reference.
What are the entry requirements?
Four GCSE's at Grade C or above including English Language and a successful interview..
If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview. If you need help completing your application we can help with this too.
What else do I need to know?
You will pay approximately £100 for sports kit for all practical sessions, a course textbook and trips on the programme to support your development
Solihull College offers full time and part time courses for businesses and residents in Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Coventry Warwickshire and the whole of the West Midlands.
What can I do after this course?
If you are successful on this course, you will be able to continue studying towards level 3 in sport. You could go into work in the sports industry specifically in coaching related work or apply for Higher Education.
