Success comes with the right bedside manner
The Employer Services team at Solihull College has once again come up trumps for a Garretts Green based business - providing first class training for its employees.
Staff at St Giles Nursing Home took the opportunity to increase their skills and gain qualifications within their sector.
Several employees enrolled onto NVQ Level 2 and 3 courses in Health and Social Care. The programmes are provided by the college on a part time/distance learning basis which enables people who wish to learn within the area they work the opportunity to continue their employment.
St Giles Nursing Home is part of the Restful Care Homes Group and provides individualised attention to residents who require general nursing care.
"The satisfaction of the workforce I employ is just as important to me as the service we provide for our patients. I am a big believer that improving the qualifications of our workforce helps us to motivate our staff and meet statutory requirements. I came to Solihull College to find training for my staff in order to increase their skills and confidence in their abilities and I couldn't be more pleased. I have had good feedback from my employees that the tutors from the College were both professional and friendly providing quality teaching and first-class support."
The Home's Manager, Jill Burton
Solihull College has a thriving sector that provides such training and has provided many businesses with highly trained staff.
Courses are flexible enabling each student to progress at their own pace within the constraints of their working hours. Each student has a tutor assigned to them to give individual advice and feedback which is delivered in one to one sessions.
