Support for School leavers at Solihull College
Pupils who didn’t get the GCSE results they were expecting or are unsure about what to do now that they’ve left school, can get advice and support from Solihull College.
The College’s dedicated Post Exams Guidance team will be on hand at both Blossomfield and Woodlands Campus on the 1st September from 2pm-6pm to talk to school leavers about their options for September and enrolment.
They’ll be able to find out about the many courses on offer at the College including vocational programmes such as plastering and sports, apprenticeships, as well as new diplomas in a variety of subjects including business, media and IT.
Academic courses at the College include A levels which may be ideal for those who haven’t decided on a career yet or who don’t want to move towards a specific vocation at this stage.
This summer, the College celebrated its best ever A Level results with a 100% pass rate in 13 subjects and a number of students scoring straight As in three or more subjects.
Eric Swales Head of the College’s Sixth Form Centre was delighted with the results: “ It’s been our best ever year, even better than the last. It’s a reflection on the hard work that students have put in over the last two years and their experiences here at Solihull College” he said. “We are now looking forward to meeting the next intake of students who want to share in the College’s success.”
