From the very first day you take your place at Solihull College we will support you in every way that we can.
Student Services
One of the big differences about Solihull College is our focus on you. We provide a wide range of services to make sure you get the help you need to achieve , whether it’s academic support or helping you find part-time work.
International Student Support
All student support services have key people based within their teams to welcome and support you at the college. When you arrive you will receive an induction from our student services team. They will guide through our induction pack, including topics such as doctor registration, bank accounts and visa registration.
Personal Tutors
You will be assigned a Personal Tutor as soon as you enrol on your course, to provide support, advice, guidance and information during your time at Solihull College. You will meet regularly with your Tutor for individual tutorial sessions - to devise a learning plan to help with your progress and to identify any areas you need to focus on.
Careers and Part Time Work
The careers team are here to help with planning for your future. The team have excellent links with Industry and will be more than happy to help you secure work experience or career placements.
They can provide assistance with writing your CV, brushing up on interview techniques or simply help you to find suitable work experience and assist you in finding Part – time work.
Counselling Team and College Nurse
The college offers free and confidential counselling to all students on an individual or group basis. All staff are professionally trained and experienced. If you have any personal worries or problems, the team is on site everyday.
The College also employs a dedicated nurse, who is available at certain times throughout the year, for any health issues you may require advice for.
Confidential appointments for both the counsellor and nurse can be booked through the main student reception at the Blossomfield Campus or through your Personal Tutor.
Additional Support
Solihull College provides opportunities for students across all subject areas in an inclusive learning environment. The College welcomes applications from people with additional needs. If you are disabled or have any special needs, then our team of support staff is here to help you.
It is very helpful to us if, when you apply to the College, you indicate these needs by ticming the appropriate box on the application from. We will then offer you the appropriate support, following assessment of your individual needs.
