Where will this course lead?
This course is ideal for those who have an interest in advanced makeup and creative techniques and may want to pursue a career in the theatre or media.
What will I study?
Apply airbrush make-up to the face
Camouflage make-up
Fashion & photographic make-up
Media make-up
Monitor & maintain health and safety practice in the salon
Style and prostiche
Client care and communication in beauty related industries
Apply prosthetic pieces and bald caps
Create and cast small prosthetic pieces and bald caps
How will this course be delivered?
Assessment will be ongoing and it is in a range of different tasks, half the course will involve practical assignments assessed within our college commercial salons, and the other half within a theory classroom which will involve assignments, exams and a portfolio.
What qualifications will I get?
Vocational study not leading to a recognised qualification, Retail and Commercial Enterprise (SSA 7)
How will I be assessed?
Observational assessments and the theory consist of a mixture of assignments, written test's and the completion of a portfolio.

What are the entry requirements?
A genuine interest in Theatrical, Special Effects ,Hair and Make-Up willing to treat clients and practising in your own time.

What else do I need to know?
A minimum of 85% attendance is required to complete the course, however 100% is expected. Industry related uniform and footwear will be required.(black enclosed flat shoes,black top and black trousers/skirt)

What can I do after this course?
Most learners who are successful on this course will be able to find employment as or in the television and film industry or become a freelance make-up artist.
